Delmar, DE — (February 17, 2014) —

Twenty-six races fill the 2014 Rislone URC Sprint Series with numerous special events including several high profile shows highlighted on the schedule.   URC will visit five states over the course of the year with stops in Pennsylvania,  North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland and Delaware.

Two high-dollar events of the new season include the 14th Annual MACH 1 Chassis National Open for 358-360 sprints at the Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday night,  September 27.    $10,000 will go to the feature winner with $2,550 for fifth, $1,000 for tenth and $500 to take the green flag in the feature event.  TJ Stutts is the defending winner of the National Open.     Another big event is the Rislone Nationals set for Friday night,  August 1st  at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA.    Mark Smith is the defending winner of this event and he’ll be shooting for the $4,000 first place prize in the ninth annual running of this Rislone Nationals. The Jack Gunn Memorial will return to the Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday night,   May 10.   In 2013, JJ Grasso won this thriller that will again pay $3,500 to win.

One very special high-profile race for the Rislone URC Sprints will take place at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA.   This is URC’s one and only visit to the “pigeon hills” of Pennsylvania.   URC, our nation’s oldest traveling sprint car organization will share the Wednesday night, June 4 race card with the USAC Amsoil Non-wing 410 sprint cars.  The URC 360 sprints and the Lincoln Speedway 358 sprints will compete for the twenty-four car starting field.   Never before has URC and the USAC organization been on the same racing program at the  Lincoln Speedway.    So sprint car fans who like wing and non-wing racing, you’ll see them both on the same night in an event sponsored by MACH 1 Chassis.   Talent will be plentiful and look for several drivers to do double-duty.

Selinsgrove Speedway will host the Kramer Cup event on Saturday night, August 9th.   This race will be presented in honor of sprint car racing legend Kramer Williamson, who lost his life in a sprint car accident in 2013.   In memory of the familiar “Pink Panther”, the Kramer Cup trophy will of course, be the color pink.   More details on this event will be released in the near future.

Davie “No Panic” Franek, eight time defending champion Curt Michael,  “The Wild Child” Josh Weller driving the Kenny Eldreth sprinter, 2013 sensation Brian Carber  who will drive the Guy Howie sprint car, Kevin Darling, and Chad Trout are just a few of the drivers who will be chasing the 2014 Rislone URC Championship crown.

The 2014 season will open with a two race weekend  with stops at the  Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, NC on Friday night, April 11 and a Saturday night stop on April 12 at the Lancaster Speedway in Lancaster, SC.   Both events are non-point races and will provide URC competitors an opportunity  to shakedown their new rides before the first point race of the season,  set for the Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday night,  April 19.

The Selinsgrove Speedway date will mark the first of ten URC Super Series special events for URC.  Recently added to the Rislone URC Schedule is a visit to the Hagerstown Speedway on Friday night, August 29.  URC is pleased to be returning to the Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night, August 23rd   Big Diamond, Grandview, Bedford, Winchester, Potomac, Delaware International and the Cherokee Speedway’s also have dates on the URC schedule.
