Hanover, PA — (March 3, 2014) — Shark Racing is west bound and down.

After a challenging opening to the 2014 season in the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series last month in Florida, Logan Schuchart (pronounced SHU-hart) and Jacob Allen of Hanover, Pa. are looking for better luck as the series visits Nevada, Arizona and California for eight races in March.

The month opens with the FVP Outlaw Showdown at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas, a half-mile oval that is part of the complex at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The WoO series appears at the dirt track this Wednesday and Thursday to open a top-notch card that includes NASCAR Sprint Cup on Sunday.

The WoO series makes its only appearance in Arizona on Saturday, March 8 when it visits Tucson International Raceway for the NAPA Wildcat Shootout.

A two-day show at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif. follows on Friday and Saturday, March 14-15.

The following weekend the series travels to the Stockton 99 Dirt Track in Stockton, Calif. for the FVP Western Spring Shootout.

On the last weekend of the month the series is at Merced Speedway in Merced, Calif. on Friday, March 28 and Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif. for the Mini Gold Cup on Saturday, March 29. (The series returns to Silver Dollar for the actual Gold Cup in September.)

“We want to thank all of our sponsors and supporters, because without their help we wouldn’t be able to make this swing,” said Bobby Allen, Shark Racing’s owner. One of the original outlaw drivers and a member of the National Sprint Car Hall & Fame, he emphasized how grateful the team is for the help of Mark Pell of Pell’s Tire Service in Coldwater, Mich.; Marty Thomas of Waukesha, Wis.; Don Ott Engines of York Springs, Pa. and Your Auto Source NAPA Autocare Center of York, Pa., along with a host of other supporters.

Neither Schuchart nor Jacob Allen have ever been west of Knoxville, Iowa, so they’re more than excited about the trip. Both are running for the prestigious Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award Presented by ButlerBuilt.

“This trip is exciting in many different ways,” said Schuchart.  “From what I’ve heard the Dirt Track at Las Vegas is similar to Charlotte, and we have run well there so we’re hoping for the best!”

In addition to racing, they’re looking forward to seeing the bright lights of the Vegas strip. They won’t have much time to go sightseeing, but if time allows they said they’d like to see Danny Koker’s car collection at Count’s Kustoms of “Counting Cars” and the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, another business featured on another History channel show, “Pawn Stars.”

Jacob Allen is rebounding from a bout of gastritis that plagued him in Florida, but he’s as excited as Schuchart is for the challenges the month will pose.

“I’m looking forward to all of the races, but especially Tulare (Thunderbowl),” he said.  “I’ve watched videos of races held on most of the tracks we’re going to, and Tulare looks like a real racy track.”

“It’s an ‘up-against-the-wall’ kind of track,” Schuchart added.

Fans can follow the team on Shark Racing’s Facebook page and on Twitter, while other information and official Shark Racing merchandise is offered on Schuchart’s Web site at shark1s.com.

Free live audio of the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car races is available at dirtvision.com, as are pay-per-view broadcasts of selected events. The series’ Web site is at woosprint.com.
