In only their third race of the year, the team tackled Knoxville Raceway and promptly qualified fourth quickest.

“Everything was going according to plan,” Lasoski said. “We knew we had to be in the top eight in qualifying because they invert eight for the feature. You can’t lollygag at Knoxville.”

The speed continued to show in the heat race as Lasoski powered from sixth to a third-place result, which locked him into the main event. Following the eight-car inversion, Lasoski started on the inside of the third row for the 20-lap feature.

After a couple of starts resulted in a caution, the race finally got going with Lasoski jumping to the top groove.

“When they dropped the green, we were all running the top because there was no bottom,” he said. “We were pretty much cruising.”

Lasoski was in fourth place when an engine failure forced him to the pits on Lap 4.

Although disappointed with the result, Lasoski was happy with the speed the team showed from the time they unloaded.

“It was very gratifying for myself,” he said. “Mark and I both want to win more than anything. For our first time there this season, we were in contention.”
