BILLINGS, Mont. – Officials with the Frontier Region of the American Sprint Car Series and Billings Motorsports Park decided on Thursday to cancel the season opening races for the touring 360 sprint car series scheduled for Friday and Saturday, as poor weather was moving into the area and increasingly poor forecasts left officials believing that racing was unlikely this weekend.

With several teams traveling to the Billings area from Washington, Wyoming, North and South Dakota, and Alberta, it was felt that an early cancellation was needed to spare those teams unnecessary travel. The event may be rescheduled and if so the make-up dates will be announced when available. The next scheduled ASCS Frontier Region event at Billings Motorsports Park is Saturday, June 13th.

The ASCS Frontier Region is now scheduled to open its third season of competition with two nights o2012 ASCs American Sprint Car Series Plain Logo Top storyf racing at Electric City Speedway in Great Falls on Fridays and Saturday, May 15th and 16th.
