Alger, WA – For the second straight year, Seth Bergman stood victorious in victory lane at the Bob’s Burgers & Brew Summer Nationals at Skagit Speedway. Bergman went wire to wire and collected $10,000 for his efforts in the Sprint Car division. Tristin Thomas and Matt Powers won in the Northwest Focus Midget Series and Outlaw Tuner classes.

After winning the A Scramble, Bergman would start on the inside of the front row with Travis Rilat to his outside. Bergman was dominant all race long, leading every lap in the Dennis Marshala owned #23, enjoying a straightaway plus advantage for most of the race both in clean air and in traffic. Rilat spent most of the race in second trying to run Seth down, but could never close to more than three or four car lengths back in the heaviest of traffic. Trey Starks passed Rilat with under ten laps to go in the main, and had closed on Bergman before a caution with four to go gave Seth clean air. Bergman capitalized and went on to win his second Summer Nationals in a row, followed by Starks and Rilat rounding out the podium. Kelsey Carpenter won the B Scramble and Jayme Barnes won the B Main.

In the Northwest Focus Midget Series Main event, Tristin Thomas made a bold move at the end to score the victory. Mike Vollbrecht had led from the get go, but Thomas used the extreme low groove to get inside Vollbrecht, and then moved up to take his line away entering turn one on the 17th lap. Contact occurred between the two, resulting in Thomas zooming away and Vollbrecht careening up the track and falling to third. Thomas would hang on over the final three laps to grab the win, followed by Ryan Cully and Vollbrecht. Heat race winners were Nick Evans and Dougie James.

Matt Powers came out on top of a contentious Outlaw Tuner main event. Powers took over the lead on a lap four restart, and then traded the lead and WWE style body slams with Freddie Vela over the final five circuits to claim the win. Vela was second and Travis Meins ran third. Vela won the heat.
