Coming Up in May at DCRP

DODGE CITY, Kan. (April 29, 2016) – The 2016 racing season at Dodge City Raceway Park is in full swing with the initial three nights of the season logged into the books during the month of April.

With the page of the calendar, attention shifts to the month of May that features a pair of big events atop the 3/8-mile DCRP clay oval in Southwest Kansas.

 

The initial event of May takes place next Saturday night, May 7, with the initial appearance of the NCRA/Gomuddy.com NSL 360 Sprint cars along with a full card of IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.

 

Rounding out the month of May will be the Saturday night, May 21, round of championship chase action featuring all five track divisions of Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Hobby Stocks.

 

Past NCRA champion Jeremy Campbell, a native of Michigan now calling Wichita home, topped last year’s May event at Dodge City Raceway Park with Tony Bruce, Jr., reaching NCRA victory lane at the Steve King Memorial.

 

Next Saturday’s NCRA/NSL card will the lone opportunity for the 360-ci powered Sprint Cars to get some DCRP laps before the $10,000-to-win Steve King Memorial on July 1-2 featuring the NSL National 360’s along with URSS 305’s and 1200-cc Mini Sprints.

 

In the track championship chases, early leaders though April competition included Taylor Velasquez in Precise Racing Products DCRP Sprint Cars, Nick Link in IMCA Modifieds, Jeff Kaup in IMCA Sport Modifieds, Tyler Tipton in IMCA Stock Cars and Cody Davis in IMCA Hobby Stocks.
