Hanson wins Pa Sprint Series feature at Susquehanna

Susquehanna, PA — (May 7, 2016) — Jaremi Hanson led flag to flag to capture his first win of the season in Saturday nighr’s 25-lap PASS/IMCA 305 Sprint car feature at Susquehanna Speedway.

The New Oxford racer started on the pole aboard the Ryan Slothower Motorsports #14 and never looked back in taking the win.

Zach Newlin rode home in the runner-up spot while Jared Esh put on a passing clinic after starting 24th and racing home in the third position ahead of Ken Duke, Jr., and Ryan Stillwaggon.

Completing the top 10 finishers were Billy Ney, Stephanie Dodson, Scott Lutz, John Martin and Cody Hackenberry.

Heats for the 29 305 Sprint cars were won by Newlin, Geoff Gill and Hanson. There was no consolation.

Gene Knaub was in the right place at the right time when race-long leader Chase Billet’s race car went up in smoke with 23 laps complete in the 25-lap 358 late model feature. Knaub, who had started 13th took over and led the final two laps to score his second win of the season at the track.

Following the Dover driver under the checkers were Charlie Potts, Ben Whittaker, Matt Nailor and Cameron Benyou with Jake Jones, Matt Murphy, Kyle Lear, Daulton Bigler and Sam Gallagher rounding out the top 10 finishers.

Thirty-four late models signed in for action with heat races going to Randy Stoudt (who scratched from the feature), Cody Kershner, Whittaker and Travis Mease. The consolation was won by Alan Sagi.

Eric Boozel led all 15 laps of the Road Warrior feature to become the third winner in as many events this season. He took the win over Christopher Anderson, 10th starting Tim O’Sheehan, Daryl Sipe and Travis Brown.

Anderson, O’Sheehan and Boozel won heats for the 27 Road Warriors.

Randy Minnich led the final two laps of the PENMAR Vintage Car feature to take that win over early leader Glenn Pobletts, Aaron Brommer, Gene Wrightstone and Scott Rickrode.

Susquehanna Speedway returns to action Saturday, May 14th on Tyson Fence Night as the Credit Connection Auto Sales Super Sportsman return to the track joined by the second Precise Racing Series event for the 358 Late Models and the Xtreme Stocks .Pits open at 4PM with grandstands opening at 5PM and Racing beginning at 7PM.
