WINDOM, Minn. (June 6, 2016) – Emotions are high entering this Saturday’s GoMuddy.com National Sprint League 360 Diamond Region event at I-30 Speedway.

One of the employees at the quarter-mile oval in Little Rock, Ark., Afton Goodson, who was known as Amazing Afton, passed away suddenly earlier this week.

“She was truly one of those people who never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face,” I-30 Speedway Owner Tracey Clay said. “Always. Even through her pains she smiled.”

Saturday will mark the third GoMuddy.com NSL 360 Diamond Region race this season. Tim Crawley has claimed each of the first two rounds with A.G. Rains the only other competitor to post podium finishes each race.

Meanwhile, Arkansas native Jordon Mallett enters this weekend leading the Cash Bowl with 192.5 points earned as a driver.

This weekend’s event will feature a $100 bonus to the Hard Charger Award winner who is NSL eligible thanks to KDN Promotions.

Also of note for regional competitors, Chase’s business – Stealth Recovery – will offset the cost of the provisional for the NSL eligible driver with the most points heading into the COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires in November.

The front gates for Saturday’s event open at 5 p.m. with racing scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $1 for children ages 6 to 12 when accompanied by an adult. Children five and younger get in free. Pit passes are $25.
