Thunder on the Hill top story

From Jay Dugan

A jam-packed night of racing action is on tap for this Tuesday, July 26 as the mighty roar of 410 Sprints and 358 Modifieds overtakes the Grandview Speedway for the second running of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series THUNDER CUP.
Fans will be treated to double A-Main events for the both the 410 Sprint Cars and the 358 Modifieds. Along with the regularly scheduled show, make-up features from the Speedweek show will also be completed.

The 410 Sprint Car Thunder Cup race winner will take home a hefty $5,000 winner’s share and the nearly two-foot tall, gold Thunder Cup trophy. This lucrative event pays $1,000 for a tenth place finish and $400 to start.

The make-up feature event will kick-off where it left off on lap 15. Greg Hodnett of Thomasville, PA will restart the race in the top spot chasing the $5,000 top-prize money, with the rest of the field taking the positions they held at the caution flag.
The make-up event payout is identical to the Thunder Cup, giving one driver the opportunity to take home two big checks totaling $10,000.

The NASCAR 358 Modifieds – Grandview Speedway’s premier weekly racing division — will compete in a 30-lap main event with $3,000 up for grabs. The complete show will include qualifying heat races prior to the feature.

The 358 make-up feature will also see an identical payout structure — $3,000 to win, $1,000 for 5th, $300 to take the green flag – and will see the line-up that was set prior to the rain falling.

At the 2015 Thunder Cup event, Danny Dietrich of Gettysburg, PA claimed the Inaugural Thunder Cup Trophy, while Jeff Strunk of Pottstown, PA bested the 358 Modifieds.
