FREMONT, Ohio (November 8, 2016) – The “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael concluded his 2016 campaign with a trip to Little Rock, Arkansas, on November 2-5; battling over 60 of the best 360 sprint car drivers in North America during the 29th annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway. When the dust settled on Saturday night, Michael found himself inside the top-ten of one of two “B” features, just a few spots shy of an A-main qualifying position.

“We had a great time at I-30 Speedway. I have to thank Mike Melton for making this experience possible. Hopefully we have an opportunity to go back in the future,” T.J. Michael said. “I think we showed some speed all weekend. We were about a day late our entire trip because we didn’t get to race the first two nights. All in all, we enjoyed the trip.”

Michael’s Short Track Nationals visit officially concluded his 2016 season, ending a near-ten month campaign across portions of the south, as well as much of the Northeast and the Midwest. The Plano, Texas, native spent the vast majority of his 2016 season on the road with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, finishing seventh in the final championship standings out of 13 full-time competitors, earning seven top-ten finishes and four hard charger awards in the process. On a special note, it was Michael’s first-ever campaign with a major touring series.

“We had a great season. The entire experience of working and racing on the road was more than rewarding,” T.J. Michael explained. “I can’t thank everyone enough for their hard work and support. I say it every week, but if it wasn’t for my family, my crew and my sponsors, I wouldn’t be where I am today. They are the behind-the-scenes effort that make a full season on the road possible. We’ve learned a lot and we’ll put it to good use next year when we hopefully do it again. We have a short off-season ahead. I’m pumped to get things moving.”

T.J. Michael will begin preparations for 2017 almost immediately. More news and updates will be published in the near future.
