YORK HAVEN, Pa. (July 16, 2017) — Lucas Wolfe used a last lap, turn two pass to capture the win in Sunday night’s 30-lap BAPS Auto Paints and Supplies 410 Sprint Series feature at Susquehanna Speedway.

Kenny Edkin continued his dream season in the Credit Connection Auto Sales Super Sportsman as he turned an impressive run into his series leading fourth feature win of the season.

With 18 410 Sprints taking the green flag, Greg Hodnett outgunned fellow front row starter Tyler Walker to take control of the feature event.

Hodnett caught the rear of the field with nine laps in as sixth-starting Danny Dietrich moved into third behind Hodnett and third-starting Lucas Wolfe.

Dietrich got around Wolfe on lap 23 and was pounding the top of the speedway when the leaders encountered a pack of four slower cars. Hodnett was able to work through them but Dietrich jumped the wheel of Jim Shuster entering the third turn and drove into the wall, ending his night.

Hodnett held control on the double file restart but went on defense over the final laps as Wolfe continued to pound the top of the track looking for every inch of momentum.

As the white flag waved, he got a great bite off turn two, sliding by Hodnett and driving to the checkered flag. It was his eighth overall win this season in the Michael Barshinger owned No. 24 and he became the fourth different winner in as many BAPS events this season.

Following the top two were Brock Zearfoss, Brian Montieth and Walker with Adrian Shaffer earning the Hard Charger Award coming from 16th to sixth over Kyle Reinhardt, Mark Smith, Kyle Moody and Glenndon Forsythe.

Heats were won by Dietrich and Hodnett.

Edkin lined up 11th on the grid for the Super Sportsman main as Steve Fannasy held the point during the early laps.

Edkin’s march through the field was impressive, moving into the top five by the completion of lap two and was racing third with six laps complete.

Following a lap six restart, Chris Meleason and Edkin drove by Fannasy while Edkin made the race winning move on lap nine, driving under Meleason exiting the fourth turn.

Tony Jackson took second with 12 laps complete and appeared to have something for Edkin but after packing a wheel with mud, he never could mount a serious bid as Edkin drove off to score his fourth win of the year and strengthened his track point lead.

Jackson settled for the runner-up spot ahead of Scott Dellinger, Fannasy and Doug Dodson with Paul Miller coming from 19th to sixth ahead of Meleason, Russ Mitten, Hard Charger Mike Enders who started 24th and Gregg Foster.

Dellinger, Jackson and Dodson were heat winners for the 26-car field.

The next BAPS 410 Sprint Series event will be on Sunday, August 20 when the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions invade the York Haven oval for the Justin Snyder Salute to the Troops event. The PA Sprint Series/IMCA Sprints will join the All Stars on the fifth event of the season for the BAPS Sprint Series.

Susquehanna Speedway returns to action this Saturday, July 22 with the K1 Race Gear Summer Series for the 358 Sprint cars. The Morgan Paving/Aqua Fun Pools Street Stocks and Superior Homes Extreme Stocks fill out the racing program which will also be ARCH (Auto Racing Club of Hagerstown) Night. Race time is 7PM.
