JACKSON, Minn. (July 31, 2017) – As the summer temperatures are peaking, the championship battles remain hot at Jackson Motorplex.

The half-mile dirt oval will host six classes – Heartland Steel RaceSaver 305 Sprints, Minnesota West – Jackson Campus IMCA a mods for a $1,500-to-win event, Bohl’s Small Engine IMCA sport mods for a $600-to-win event, Fairmont Awards IMCA hobby stocks, Heartland Racing Association non-wing sprints presented by HitchDoc and the Late Model Street Stock Touring Series – this Friday during Fan Appreciation Night presented by Livewire Printing Company as the top competitors in the divisions are separated by less than two dozen points.

Kaleb Johnson maintains a 23-point advantage in the Heartland Steel RaceSaver 305 Sprints championship standings with Brandon Geldner in tow. Trevor Serbus is only three points behind Geldner.

One of the closest battles is in the Minnesota West – Jackson Campus IMCA a mods division as Mat Hollerich holds a four-point edge in the standings over Denny Anderson. Brandon Beckendorf, who leads the class with three victories, is 13 points out of the lead.

Matthew Looft, who is riding a four-race winning streak, owns a four-point lead over Dan Paplow and a five-point advantage over Jason Andrews in the Bohl’s Small Engine IMCA sport mods standings.

Three-time winner D.J. Clinton has a three-point edge over Justin Luinenburg in the Fairmont Awards IMCA hobby stocks standings as Ben Peterson is 20 points out of the top spot.

Friday will mark the fifth race of the season for the Heartland Racing Association non-wing sprints presented by HitchDoc as Brandon Halverson is on a two-race winning streak after Doug Schenck and Clinton Bruns won the first two events.

Friday will be the only visit this season for the Late Model Street Stock Touring Series at Jackson Motorplex.

The pits will open at 3 p.m. with the main gates opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

All fans get in for FREE with an advanced ticket from race teams or they can be picked up at the Livewire Printing Company or Kat’s Hog Heaven in downtown Jackson.

Without a free ticket the prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 62-years-old and older and $5 for students ages 13 to 18. Children ages 12 and younger get in free.
