What better place for that historic race to happen than at Decatur County Speedway in Oberlin, the hometown of URSS founder Rick Salem.
The United Rebel Sprint Series returned to Liberal Fairgrounds Speedway on Sunday after being rained out of the regularly scheduled event Friday.
But that close call at the start of the race Saturday at I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan, Colo., only served as a wake-up call for Trimble, who went on to notch his third United Rebel Sprint Series victory of the year.
The Rebels will compete Saturday and Sunday at Decatur County Speedway in Oberlin, the hometown of URSS founder Rick Salem.
The former asphalt driver now competing with the United Rebel Sprint Series picked up his first series victory Saturday night in a non-wing show at El Paso County Speedway in Calhan, Colo.
Case in point: The two-day Bob Salem Memorial Sprint Car and Midget Nationals on Sept. 14 and 15 at Decatur County Speedway in Oberlin.
It didn’t hurt any that the Plains driver won his second straight United Rebel Sprint Series feature, either.
