(July 7, 2010) – Rounds four and five of the 2010 Southern Ontario Sprints season are on tap this Friday, July 9 and Saturday, July 10. Friday at Autodrome Edelweiss marks the first ever SOS event in Quebec, while the tour heads to more familiar territory at Brighton Speedway on Saturday night.

Keith Dempster of Alton continues to lead the tour points following round three at Ohsweken Speedway last Friday night. Consecon’s Tyler Rand is in second, thirty-three markers behind, followed by Glenn Styres of Ohsweken, Ridgetown driver Adam West, and leading Rookie of the Year candidate Jim Munsie of Pickering.

Friday’s event will be the first ever championship points race for the club in the province of Quebec, and figures to be a contest for provincial pride with many Quebec drivers set to take on the travelers from the SOS. Autodrome Edelweiss is a fast 1/4 mile oval which regularly features Sprint Cars lapping in the eleven second range. The Ottawa-area track has hosted twenty-nine Sprint Car events since 1990, including an Empire Super Sprints feature win for New York driver Chuck Hebing on June 18 this season. More information about Autodrome Edelweiss can be found in both English and French on the official website at www.AutodromeEdelweiss.com.

The SOS tour has visited Brighton Speedway more than any other track, including twice already this season. Joyceville’s Rick Wilson leads the way on the all-time SOS feature win list at the Northumberland County oval with thirteen, while Glenn Styres sits second with ten. Keith Dempster claimed his seventh feature win at Brighton in the opening round on May 23, while Burford’s Jamie Collard got his first ever SOS win in round two at Brighton on June 19. More information about Brighton Speedway can be found on the official website at www.BrightonSpeedway.com.

Don’t miss the fourth and fifth events of the SOS racing season on Friday, July 9 and Saturday, July 10!

At Edelweiss, Toitures Marcel Raymond presents the Southern Ontario Sprints along with Edelweiss’ regular Semi-Pro, Mod-Lite, and Four Cylinder divisions, plus Four-Wheeler races.

At Brighton, Dekeyser Excavating presents the evening’s activities, featuring the Southern Ontario Sprints along with Brighton’s popular Canadian Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Comp 4’s, and Stingers.
