WISECO AND EVERS PRESENT MID-SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP AT OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY

(July 7, 2010) – The seventh round of Ohsweken Speedway’s Friday Night Thunder hits the track this Friday, July 9th. This week’s event is presented by Wiseco Piston and Evers Financial, and features “Mid-Season Championship night” with extended features for the Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Cars, ESSO Thunder Stocks, ESSO Mini Stocks, and Bombers, plus the return of Vintage Cars!

Dave Dykstra of Port Colborne added to his lead in the Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Car division standings with a good run last Friday in the Northern Summer Nationals. South Dayton, NY driver Kyle Moffit moved up to second, but he’s now nineteen points behind. Alton’s Keith Dempster was shuffled to third, while Kevin Job of Campbellville is fourth, and Ohsweken’s Glenn Styres is fifth.

Billy Bleich of Port Robinson continues to lead the ESSO Thunder Stock standings, but Caledonia’s Lee Winger and Cambridge driver Jamie Cox have been chipping away at his lead. Those two drivers are now tied for second, seventeen markers out of the lead. Jeremy Bean of Stoney Creek is fourth, followed by Grimsby’s Rob Disher in fifth.

Trevor Goulding of Welland is still at the top of the list in the ESSO Mini Stock standings, but Brantford’s Kevin Hilborn is quietly having a very consistent season and sits second, twenty-two points behind. Craig Erskine of Brantford, Caledonia’s Mike Evers, and Paris driver Steve Miller round out the top five.

Dundas driver Karl Sault got back to his winning ways in the Bomber division last week, and had a commanding lead in the standings. John Cote is in second place, followed by Hamilton’s Kacey Huffman, Jeremy Hughes, and Shawn Ireland, both of Burlington.
