6th and Runner-Up in Caution-Filled Twin 30’s

The ‘Month of Money’ rolled on for the World of Outlaws and the Big Game Treestands #7 team on Tuesday as they took on Lernerville Speedway for the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup Twin 30’s, an event that inverts the lead-lap cars of the first feature for another 30-lap main event with each paying a 15,000 top prize.

After strong afternoon showers passed through the Sarver, Pennsylvania area, the event went according to plan with 38 drivers taking part in qualifying time trials. Dollansky was the second car out to qualify and posted a solid lap of 12.877 seconds around the 4/10-mile oval which wound up being 7th quickest for the #7. In the third heat race, Dollansky started inside the second row and lost a couple of positions exiting turn two on the opening lap but was able to stay in the top five and transfer the Karavan Trailers sponsored car into the Twin 30 events.

The first 30-lap A-Main awarded championship points like a normal World of Outlaws feature and paid $15,000 to the winner. After five cautions stopped action up until the 25th circuit, Dollansky had cracked the top ten and was running in the nineth position. With 5 laps remaining Dollansky was able to endure a few more cautions including one on lap 27 that saw Kerry Madsen flip after jumping the cushion exiting turn four and nearly collect the Big Game Treestands #7. When the checkers flew, Dollansky had worked his way up to 6th from the 15th starting position. “We made some changes after the heat that helped for the feature and ran out of fuel on the last restart so we would have been a little bit better had that not happened”, commented Craig.

With points out the door for the second A-Main, teams lined up for another 30-laps of action with the lead-lap cars of the first feature completely inverted and another $15,000 at stake. Fourteen cars finished on the lead-lap which meant the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim would line up nineth. Dollansky worked his way into the top five by lap 5 as the caution flag flew for race leader Tyler Walker who spun in turn two. On the following double file restart ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ shot around the highside of turn one and two and picked off a couple more cars. A couple more cautions bunched the field up allowing Dollansky to work his way around Jason Meyers and into the second position. A long stretch of green flag action followed by a couple cautions in the last few laps weren’t enough to take the lead as Dollansky would finish runner-up in the inverted feature. “We did a little experimenting for the second feature and got ourselves up there in second behind Joey but he was pretty good up there. I was hoping to get into lapped traffic but everytime we would, a caution would come out, coming from where we started it was a good run in the Big Game Treestands car”, said Dollansky.

The Big Game Treestands team now heads to ‘PA Posse’ territory, Williams Grove Speedway, this weekend for two nights of racing in the Summer Nationals.
