Tommy Tarlton) Defending Ocean Sprint Car champion, Tommy Tarlton jumped out to the early lead during 30-lap feature event action at Ocean Speedway last Friday night, during the Ocean Sprints vs. California Sprint Car Civil War Series Showdown.
Driving the Corporate America Lending, Tarlton & Son, Inc No. 21 machine, the current Ocean Sprints point leader looked poised for victory, however on lap eight, cars became piled up in turns one and two, and Tarlton had nowhere to go, resulting with him stopping the potent mount. After going to the rear of the field, Tommy blasted back through it to finish a respectable eighth.
The veteran gasser’s night started off with him qualifying 13th out of the 38 cars that assembled in the pit area and he also went on to finish third in his heat race.
Tommy will be back in action at Ocean Speedway on August 27.
