TONY STEWART TO JOIN HOST KASEY KAHNE AND KYLE BUSCH AT CHARITY RACE EVENT AT WILLIAMS GROVE SPEEDWAY

From KKF

MOORESVILLE, NC (August 2, 2010) – Two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Tony Stewart has committed to racing his sprint car at the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet “Battle at the Grove” charity dirt track race this Thursday, August 5 at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa. Proceeds from the event, hosted by fellow NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne, will be donated to charities designated by the Kasey Kahne Foundation and Central Pennsylvania-based Ollie’s Bargain Outlet.

“Tony is a big supporter of dirt track racing and he likes to compete whenever he can, like I do,” said Kahne, an 11-time winner on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. “Tony always draws a big crowd so his participation will boost our fundraising goals for the Battle at the Grove.”

Advance tickets are on sale through Tuesday, August 3 at www.battleatthegrove.com. Adult general admission tickets are $25 with discounts for non-adults.

As in past events sponsored by Ollie’s Bargain Outlet in cooperation with the Kasey Kahne Foundation at Williams Grove, URC-sanctioned 360/358 Sprints will be the main feature of this year’s race with both Kahne and Stewart competing. Stewart raced two years ago in the 2008 event. The Super Late Model class will also be a major attraction again with Kyle Busch returning to race. Busch finished second last year.

“We are thrilled to have Tony Stewart come back to Central Pennsylvania and race this event again,” said Ollie’s President and CEO Mark Butler. “The crowd will be in for a very special night of racing with three of the best drivers and biggest names in NASCAR racing against the best dirt track racers in the area.”

Williams Grove Speedway is a half-mile clay oval that hosts sprint car racing events on a weekly basis for much of the year. Opened in 1939, the “Grove” is regarded as one of the most historic dirt track venues in the country and has hosted legendary racers such as A.J. Foyt and Mario Andretti.
