Robert Ballou and Brian Montieth are the top two Team XXX drivers on the XXX feature win list with 16 wins between them, and this weekend they helped themselves to more accolades. After winning another ASCS Sprint Bandit TNT feature Tuesday night, Ballou clinched his the TNT points title with a second place run on Saturday night in his XXX chassis. Montieth beat the ultra-tough PA Posse twice over the weekend, scoring big money wins at Williams Grove on Friday night and Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night. Other Team XXX drivers hitting victory lane were Austin Alumbaugh, Steve Short, Ryan Beechler, Jackie York, Ron Krysl, Phillip Davis, Jacob Patton and Landon Hurst.

August has been a stout month for the Premier Auto Works team with Brian Montieth at the helm of the #21 XXX chassis. Montieth has been a winner on four of the last five weekends at Williams Grove Speedway after winning the second of the twin 20 lap features run on Friday night. On Saturday night, Montieth won a thriller of a race at Lincoln Speedway to pick off his seventh total triumph of the year, hanging on to beat Lance Dewease for a $5,800 win. Overall, Montieth and car owner Jerry Parrish put over $10,000 in the bank this past weekend on the back of their XXX chassis and components.

Robert Ballou finished a couple of car lengths short of winning the Shuman Classic in Kansas City, but the California native captured his second ASCS Sprint Bandits TNT title by virtue of his runner-up finish. Ballou took the title by a mere 26 points over fellow TeamXXX racer and last year’s champion Brady Bacon. Congratulations to both Robert and Brady on a great year with the ASCS Sprint Bandits TNT.

With a superman logo flying prominently on his car, Austin “The Man of Steel” Alumbaugh was near invulnerable on Sunday night in Missouri. Taking on the WoW at Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, the 2009 WoW Rookie of the Year scored his second main event victory of 2010.

Steve Short picked up win #2 on the year Saturday night at St Francois County Raceway in Farmington, MO. It was a dominating night for Steve as he won not only the feature, but the dash and his heat race as well. Steve gets his XXX chassis and components through Jeff “Shockman” Davis & Quick Racing Products.

Another week, another win for Ryan Beechler. The 305 Hotshoe was victorious again on Saturday night, this time at Kennedale Speedway Park in Texas, home to his previous triumph. Ryan won his heat and bested the field in the feature.

Congratulations go out to Jackie York, who took his second victory of the year in his XXX Sprint Car at Creek County Speedway in Oklahoma. Jackie stormed his way up the field to take the win, narrowly nipping the leader by mere inches at the line to triumph.

Ron Krysl is keeping up his championship momentum at Stuart Community Track in Nebraska by winning the past two features at the ¼ mile dirt oval. Krysl, last year’s limited sprint champion, has now won four races this season as he clings to a one point lead in the late stages of the 2010 championship chase.

In 600 mini sprint action, Team XXX driver Jacob Patton took his XXX 600 mini sprint to victory lane at Wayne County Speedway in Illinois. Going non-wing, Patton won his dash, heat and the feature. Team XXX had a good night overall at the 1/8 mile bullring, with Dereck King taking 3rd in the winged portion of the event and 5th in the non-wing main. After a successful Clay Cup Nationals at Deming Speedway where he was a preliminary night winner, Landon Hurst has been fighting hard to return to victory lane at his home track of Lemoore Raceway. This past Saturday night, Hurst was back in winner’s circle, taking down the Stock division at Lemoore for his fourth overall win of 2010. And finally, driving a former Tulsa Shootout winning XXX 600 mini sprint, Phillip Davis won his first career main event on Saturday night at Caney Valley Speedway in Kansas. After running second early, Davis took the lead on lap 6 and never looked back , leading the rest of the way en route to the win.
