RMR HOSTS PENULTIMATE ROCKY MOUNTAIN RACE SATURDAY

By Dick Jordan

Just two races remain in the 2010 USAC Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car series and this Saturday’s race at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah could be pivotal in the battle between two-time series champions Jim Waters and Jimmy Wysong.

Waters of West Jordan, Utah and Wysong of South Jordan, Utah and only six points apart with 76 points available Saturday at the 3/8-mile paved oval.

Waters has won two of the last three races at RMR, while Wysong recorded a victory in May.

A championship would be the third for either driver, but both need to keep an eye on third-ranking Luis Ramos III, Ramos, who is still seeking his first Utah win, is only 46 behind Waters and 40 behind Wysong going into the final two races. Ramos has a second and three thirds in RMR stars this season.
