All Stars headed to Lernerville, Attica for big Labor Day weekend

CARMARGO, Il (8-31-10) – The stars of the O’Reilly Auto
Parts All Star Circuit of Champion Sprint Cars, grabbed all the headlines
during the 50th Annual Goodyear Knoxville Nationals. Now, they will be
heading to the historic Lernerville Speedway Friday, Sept. 3 and for the
traditional Attica Ambush at Attica Raceway Park on Saturday, Sept. 4.

Knoxville champion and defending All Star champion and current point leader
Tim Shaffer, two-time All Star champion Greg Wilson, Knoxville Nationals
Rookie of the Year and Ohio Speedweek champion David Gravel, All Star
rookies Cap Henry and Jared Ridge and veteran Bill Rose and more will take
on Lernerville champion Danny Holtgraver, local legend Ed Lynch Jr. and
others like Bob Felmlee, Carl Bowser, Andy Priest, and possibly some of the
famed PA Posse members.

The last time the All Stars competed at the fast half-mile, three-time All
Star champion Dale Blaney defeated Shaffer, a former Lernerville track
champion, in an exciting race. Shaffer caught Blaney on the white flag lap,
executed a slide job in turn two with Blaney pulling back around down the
back stretch. Shaffer tried another move in the final two turns, but Blaney
drive back by for his 74th career All Star victory.

Then it’s off to the high banks of Attica Raceway Park on Saturday where
the local drivers will challenge the All Stars. It marks the last race of
the 2010 season at Attica.

The last time the All Stars visited Attica Raceway Park was to open the
Ohio Sprint Speedweek. Byron Reed, who recently picked up his sixth Attica
track title, scored the victory over 12-time Attica champion Mark Keegan
and Dean Jacobs who also recorded a victory at “Ohio’s Finest” speedplant
in 2010.

Reed also defeated the All Stars at Attica earlier in the year at the
traditional Sprint Nationals.

Stevie Smith took the Attica Ambush win in 2009 while Dale Blaney picked up
the victory in 2008.

The All Star drivers will also have their hands full with Craig Mintz,
Bryan Sebetto, and Rob Chaney and Lee Jacobs who have recorded Attica wins
in 2010.
