Working Woody Hangs it Up

Eric Malies announced on Wednesday that Workin’N Woody would no longer travel of the World of Outlaws circuit in 2011. Malies was notified by World of Outlaws officials two weeks ago he would not be retained for next season and has opted to peruse other career opportunities near his home in Florida.

Eric, son of Art and Carol Malies, has traveled with the World of Outlaws working for the Outdoor Channel or running Work’N Woody for the past five years. Woody under the guidance of the Malies family was a part of the World of Outlaws virtually since its inception.

“I want to thank the World of Outlaws for giving me the opportunity to live my dream for the past 2 years operating Woody by myself. This was a very difficult decision, but the right one for me to make. I have to thank all of my loyal advertisers who have helped and supported me,” said Malies in a press release. “What I am going to miss the most is working with the WoO road crew (Jim & Luci, Bill & Lynda, Eloy, & Justin) and helping all the teams and their crews, whether it was a traveling team or a local team, Woody has always been there for them all. I wish all of them good luck and a great 2011 season and beyond.”
