KNOXVILLE, IOWA (January 5, 2011) – The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum will again be a part of the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a benefit auction on Thursday, January 13, at 12 Noon. This will be the thirteenth year that the organizers of the prestigious winter midget car event, Emmett & Fuzzy Hahn and Lanny & Beverly Edwards, have invited the non-profit museum foundation to be a part of their festivities. In fact, this is the 25th anniversary Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals presented by General Tire, making it even more special.
According to museum marketing manager Chuck Stowe, “We are thrilled to partner with the Chili Bowl again in 2011 for this auction. We will again donate 10% of our auction proceeds to the official Chili Bowl charity, the Parent Child Center of Tulsa. All other income will go to our mission of ‘promoting the future of sprint car racing by preserving its past history.’ We will also be in attendance and help in any way possible with their Annual Chili Bowl Auction on Friday afternoon, January 14. We encourage everyone to attend both auctions.”
The Thursday museum auction will feature special one-of-a-kind racing memorabilia, with many of the items having been signed by some of the biggest names in motorsports. Said Stowe this week, “Due to the cancellation of our 50th Knoxville Nationals museum-benefit auction in August because of the Friday night rainout, we will actually be bringing a lot more interesting and diverse items to Tulsa than in years past. If fans are looking for unique, autographed collectibles at reasonable prices, then our Noon auction will be the place to be inside the QuikTrip Center on Thursday.”
The complete museum-benefit auction catalog is available on-line at www.sprintcarhof.com by clicking on Special Events on the left-hand side of the landing page. Anyone with questions regarding the Thursday auction is encouraged to call Chuck Stowe at 1-800-874-4488.
