The USAC Midwest Focus Young Guns will compete 17 times in 2010 in conjunction with the USAC Midwest Ford Focus events released this morning. Eight of the races are part of the 2011 events at the Bryant Heating & Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome.

The other events include the series opener and closer among five races at Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway, plus single events at Kalamazoo, Mich, Plymouth, Ind. and Columbus and Xenia, Ohio. The races at Montpelier comprise the first ever for the Young Guns on dirt in the Midwest.

Cooper Clouse of Ohio City, Ohio is the defending champion in the Midwest Young Guns Series, taking the inaugural title last year.

“USAC will honor a National Young Guns Champion for the first time in 2011,” says USAC Developmental Racing Series Director James Spink. “A driver’s best eight finishes, regardless of region, will count toward the title and individual regional champions will also be recognized within that framework.”
