RYAN LITT: SPRINGING UP AT SALEM

By Tommy Goudge

(April 7, 2010) – Ryan Litt and the #07 BS&B Radiator Sprint Car team suffered through a cold winter with record snowfall in the London area, and they’re ready to go racing. Their first event of the 2011 season is the ‘Winged Sprint Spectacular’ this Sunday at Indiana’s famed Salem Speedway.

Salem is one of Ryan’s favourite tracks. He’s competed there on five occasions – four in a winged Sprint Car – and has recorded two second place finishes at the high-banked, high-speed track.

The #07 was a contender in both Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series events last season, but didn’t finish well due to engine problems in April, and a collision with a lapped car while leading in August.

“We’re really excited to kick off the 2011 season,” says Ryan. “Our car is fresh and ready to go, and we’re packing another 80 horsepower, so hopefully we can start the year off right with a strong finish. The car is always good at Salem – we just seem to run into bad luck (there).”

This year marks the second full season for the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series. Ryan and the #07 team finished 4th in the championship chase last year, despite some problems along the way. This year several high-profile drivers will join the already competitive Must See Racing ranks, including Bobby Santos III, and Davey Hamilton.

“The series is going to be tough this year, with a lot of big name drivers coming in to run,” says Ryan. “That is good for us. It makes us step our game up, and become a better team.”

The Must See Racing series changed tire rules over the offseason, and now mandate the American Racer brand on all four corners. The change was made with the intention of reducing tire costs for all teams on the tour.

“The new tire should be pretty interesting,” says Ryan. “Reports as of now are that they actually get faster with more laps. The new rule is going to force drivers to be really smart with their strategy, deciding when to charge forward and make passes. I have no idea what it’s going to be like. We’re going to have to learn pretty quickly.”

The Salem event will be taped for later broadcast on Comcast in over ninety million U.S. households, and will also be available online on-demand on the Must See Racing website: www.MustSeeRacing.com
