JUSTIN MARVEL READY FOR ELDORA AND KOKOMO THIS WEEKEND!

From Scott Daloisio Sports

(Charlotte, NC, April 27, 2011) After a good early season run in their first race of the 2011 season at the No Way Out 40 at Indiana’s Twin Cities Raceway, veteran driver Justin Marvel and RB Motorsports owner Russell Bliss have set their sights high for this Saturday’s Curb Records Non Wing Sprint Car Night at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway in New Weston, Ohio and the USAC National Sprint Car Series race at Indiana’s Kokomo Speedway on Sunday.

Marvel and Bliss made a big impression at the No Way Out event in North Vernon, Indiana on April 2nd. The new team performed extremely well by qualifying third fastest in a tough 50+ car field. They came right back and won their heat race and placed 9th in the 40-lap main event finishing ahead of many of the best in the business in their first outing.

The Marvel name has long synonymous with open wheel racing not only in the state of Indiana, but around the country. Grandfather Bill Marvel and Justin’s father Brad have been fixtures around the racing scene for decades. Justin, who resides in the racing hotbed of Pittsboro, Indiana, was the 1997 Hoosier Auto Racing Fans Sprint Car Rookie of the Year. In 2003, he won the Sprint Car Championship at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Indiana. Two years after that, he won the prestigious King of Indiana Sprint Series (KISS) championship.

Car owner Bliss has been around oval track racing since the day he was born. A well respected open wheel mechanic, the native Southern Californian has worked for many of the top stars in the west including current NASCAR Sprint Cup regular J.J. Yeley. In addition, he has been a well respected racing official having worked in the SCRA Sprint Car Series, the USAC/CRA Series and also at the Irwindale Speedway. Bliss relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina six years ago and is now realizing a longtime dream of fielding a top notch Sprint Car with a driver who is always capable of winning behind the wheel.

While car owner Bliss lives in North Carolina, Marvel keeps and maintains the race car in Pittsboro. After their impressive start in the No Way Out 40 and this weekend’s races at Eldora and Kokomo, the new team plan on racing twice a month in Indiana (mostly Lincoln Park). In addition, they do plan on racing some of the bigger USAC National Events including the Indiana Sprint Week races on July 8th at Gas City I69 Speedway, July 9th at Kokomo Speedway and July 10th at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Also, they plan to hit the road and head to Iowa to race at the famous Knoxville Raceway on August 7th and Southern Iowa Speedway In Oskaloosa on August 9th.

For the 2011 campaign the blue RB Motorsports #1B Sprint Car is sponsored by Triple X Racing Components, VP Racing Fuels, Hoosier Tires, R&B Truckers, Hinchman Uniforms and Dave with Smoker’s Choice. If you or your company would like to be a part of this top rated team, please call Russell Bliss at: (909) 731-3296.
