Granger, IA—June 5, 2011—Kraig Kinser had heard a lot about the Belleville High Banks and this past Friday night he got to see the famed half-mile in Kansas for himself as the World of Outlaws competed at the historic facility for just the second time ever and the first since 1981. The third generation driver turned in a very solid showing at the historic speedway to pick up a sixth-place finish aboard the Casey’s General Store Maxim.
Kinser turned the eighth quickest lap in time trials at Belleville, which put him on the outside of the front row in the second heat race. He took the lead from pole sitter Chad Kemenah at the drop of the green in the eight-lap contest and would pace the entire distance to earn a spot in the dash. The third generation driver would start eighth in the dash and finish in that same position.
In the 25-lap main event Kraig lined up on the outside of the fourth row and jumped into sixth on the opening lap before falling back to eighth on the second go-around. He dropped to 10th on the fifth lap, getting around Jason Sides for ninth on lap-nine. On a restart with seven laps remaining, Kinser passed Lucas Wolfe for seventh, before the caution flew again on the next lap. He moved into sixth with six laps to go before losing that spot, which he would regain on the final circuit to score the sixth-place run, which was his seventh Top-10 finish of the season.
On Saturday night at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kinser timed in 14th. He would start and finish fifth in the second heat race which would line him up 14th in the main event. He would finish the 30-lap contest in the 16th position.
Kinser is currently 11th in the World of Outlaws championship standings on the strength of seven Top-10 finishes, just 19 markers out of the Top-10 heading into a two-race weekend at the famed Knoxville Raceway in Iowa.

Kraig on the weekend:
“We had a pretty good run at Belleville. We timed in the right spot and started up front in the heat and that got us in the dash. We were able to keep our nose clean in the feature and pick up a couple of spots late. It was good to get two races in and hopefully we can do that again next weekend. The Casey’s General Store team continues to work hard and the more laps we get, the more that will help us.”
