Two Nights on a Bullring: Kraig Kinser Heads to River Cities Speedway

By Parsons Motorsports PR

Granger, IA—June 15, 2011—Kraig Kinser raced quite a bit on tight, high-banked tracks in the Indiana/Michigan/Ohio area when he was cutting his teeth early in his career. A track very similar to the bullrings he grew up on is River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D. The third generation driver will have two chances to compete at the high-banked three-tenths-mile this weekend aboard the Casey’s General Store Maxim, as the World of Outlaws take part in the Duel in the Dakota on Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18.

The third generation driver made his debut at River Cities Speedway in 2000 with the former Gumout Series finishing fourth and fifth in two starts. In 2001, the native of Bloomington, Ind. earned a career-best runner-up finish at the high-banked bullring and scored another podium at River Cities in 2002. In four Gumout Series starts at the track, Kinser finished in the Top-Five each and every time.

Kinser returned to River Cities Speedway in 2008 with the World of Outlaws. He picked up his best World of Outlaws finish at the track on August 21, 2009 coming home sixth. The 2005 winner of the Knoxville Nationals finished eighth both nights of the Duel in the Dakotas last season. He has three Top-10 finishes in five starts with the series at the track.

Kinser enters the pair of races this weekend 11th in the World of Outlaws championship standings on the strength of eight Top-10 finishes and is just 20 markers out of the Top-10. He finished ninth last Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway in his most recent start.

Kraig on River Cities Speedway:

“I’ve always enjoyed racing at River Cities. The first few times I was there with the Gumout Series I really took a liking to the track and had some strong runs. We were pretty solid last year and have been good there the last few years. This will be my first start in the Casey’s General Store car there, so hopefully we can get a good run for Lonnie (Parsons) and the whole team. My crew works hard day in and day out and it’s always good for them when we run strong.”
