NEWTON (June 16, 2011) – When you last read about Miss Danielle, you may have learned that she’s been pretty busy! Now that this twenty-two year old is done with classes for the summer, she’s ready to hit the track.
Two weeks ago Danielle and the Ossenfort racing team made their way to their hometown track of Black Hills Speedway, in Rapid City, South Dakota. Although she will tell you, that she was a little nervous about getting used to her car again (it’s been almost a month since she was last in it), you probably couldn’t tell when she was on the track. “Hot laps went really well, and that gave me more confidence in myself and in my car,” said Danielle.
Unfortunately, however by the time the heat races rolled around the track had change immensely. “The track dried up and even visibility was reduced due to the dust. It was difficult to pass and even get traction at times.” Danielle had to say. So, the team tightened up the Knology #10D as much as they could and hoped for the best!
They must have done something right, because Danielle and the #10D finished the night with a solid tenth place finish in the main event.
“My heat went well and so did my main. I was still a little bit nervous about the car and the set-up, especially since we were on a half mile track. I haven’t been on one in such a long time and things just felt different, which affected my driving just a little; but it was good to get back out there and I can’t wait to do it again this Friday!” said Danielle.
You will find Danielle, back at her hometown track in Rapid City, climbing behind the wheel and back into her seat, this Friday evening. Be sure you get out there to cheer on the #10D and the Ossenfort racing team!
