SALINA, Ok. (June 20, 2011) – Whit Gastineau won his fourth Oil Capitol Racing Series winged sprint car race of the 2011 season when he took the win at Salina Highbanks Speedway.
Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the OCRS, manufacturing a right rear tire specifically for the series. The remainder of the tires used by OCRS competitors are from the same line of tires Goodyear builds for other touring sprint car programs.
Gastineau’s win came after a two-lap shootout at the end of the event. Matt Sherrell finished second, followed by Sean McClelland, Rafe Essary and Jamie Passmore.
Weather impacted the event. The race distance was shortened as lightning flashed in the distance.
