Granger, IA—July 3, 2011—One of the keys to being successful on the road with the World of Outlaws is to be able to deal with and rebound from adversity. Kraig Kinser and the Parsons Motorsports team had to do that on three separate occasions this past weekend during the Boot Hill Showdown at Dodge City Raceway Park in Kansas and were rewarded for their efforts with a Top-10 finish in the opener of the two-day event.
Kinser opened the weekend by turning the sixth quickest lap in time trials on Friday night. He followed that up with a third-place effort in the third heat race to earn a spot in the 30-lap main event.
The third generation driver lined up 11th in the feature and lost a few spots in the opening laps, falling back to 15th. He worked his way back forward and was running 11th when brake problems on the final caution of the night with four laps to go forced him to the work area. The Casey’s General Store crew made the needed repairs and got him out on the track in time for the final restart of the night. Kinser restarted 13th and quickly gained two spots at the drop of the green to move back into 11th. He then snagged the 10th spot on the final lap from Chad Kemenah to earn his 10th Top-10 finish of the 2011 campaign.
Kinser qualified in the 11th spot in the finale of the Boot Hill Showdown, putting him on the pole of the second heat race, where he finished third. He lined up 12th for the 30-lap main event, though was forced to the work area prior to even firing the car, as he was run over by a push truck. His crew was given six minutes by World of Outlaws rules in the work area, to make the necessary repairs, which they were able to accomplish, with Kraig reassuming his 12th starting spot, when the field was pushed off.
On the sixth lap of the main event, Kinser stopped in turn two with front end trouble while running 12th, leading to a second visit of the night to the work area, with the crew again getting the car repaired in the allotted time. The 2005 winner of the Knoxville Nationals would end up finishing in the 16th position.
Kinser is currently 12th in the World of Outlaws championship standings on the strength of 10 Top-10 finishes heading into a pair of events in Wisconsin this coming weekend at Cedar Lake Speedway and Beaver Dam Raceway.

Kraig on the weekend:
“It was not quite the weekend we were hoping for. This Casey’s General Store team worked hard as always and we dealt pretty well with more than our fair share of bad luck on both nights. We’ll just keep plugging away and working hard. We were glad to get two races in and hopefully that will be the case again this coming weekend in Wisconsin. We’re still trying to get into a rhythm and we need all the laps we can get to accomplish that.”
