PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night at the Knoxville Nationals, Chico, CA native, Jonathan Allard, fell victim to an opening lap flip in the C-main ending his 2011 Nationals very abruptly.

After racing his way into the C-main through Friday nights non-qualifiers program at the Knoxville Raceway, Allard had his work cut out from him on Saturday night.

After starting in the 19th position, Allard needed to advance into the top-two to keep his run going into the Last Chance Qualifier.

With the waving of Doug Clark’s green flag, JA quickly went to the high side of the speedway entering turns one and two as he looked to race towards the front.

In the center of the corner, Allard clipped cushion and sent his Williams Motorsports entry into a series of flips, ending his race, and bringing his Knoxville Nationals to an abrupt close.

“Unfortuantely we just put ourselves in a bad place after our prelim night,” explained JA. “We put together a pretty good run on Friday night to put us in the C tonight, and I tried doing a little too much too early and cost us pretty big. I have to thank Morrie, Katy, and all my guys for getting me back here and giving me the chance to race the best in the business.”
