Jonathan Allard’s wild northwest swing with the World of Outlaws came to a fitting end for the Chico, CA driver on Monday night in Cottage Grove, OR, that is with a flat tire on lap 35, after getting upside down the previous two nights at the Skagit Speedway.

“This entire trip was an absolute nightmare,” explained Allard.

After timing in with the 15th quickest lap of the night, Allard’s bad luck quickly caught up with him as he got upside down on the first lap of the heat race.

Luckily for Allard, the damage was repairable, and the Williams Motorsports entry was able to make the call to tag the rear of the field and give himself a shot at the feature.

Allard was able to work up to the sixth and final transfer position putting him in the 40-lap feature event where he started in the 15th position.

The early part of the feature , the Cottage Grove Speedway was very racy, as the ¼ mile bullring had both a top and a bottom grove.

As JA worked his way into the top ten on the 13th circuit, the track began taking rubber, creating single file, lighting fast racing action.

With the rubbered up racing surface, tire ware became an issue as cars visibly began putting off tire smoke. On the 35th lap the Allard was the first victim of tire ware, as a flat tire sidelined him from the final five circuits, ending his night, and his northwest swing.

“Anything that could of went wrong this weekend, went wrong, and really made for a long weekend,” explained JA. “My guys did an awesome job, as they worked their tails off making repairs and keeping us on the track. Hopefully we can get home this week to some home cooking, and have a strong Gold Cup.”

ON TAP: The next race on Allard’s schedule is the 58th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions at his home track, Silver Dollar Speedway, in Chico, CA. JA and the Zero Hero’s will be in action Friday and Saturday night.
