September 28, 2011 – History will be made this Friday night at the Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois. The first ever Monster Energy™ Sprint Car Series presented by the Midwest Open Wheel Association champion will be crowned at the end of the night!

Jerrod Hull remains on top of the standings, and a solid night could net him the crown, but Jimmy Hurley lurks in second, and with a great night could snatch a championship. Robbie Standridge sits third, with Korey Weyant and Jim Moughan Jr. rounding out the top five. Sixth through tenth include Chris Urish, AJ Bruns, Joey Moughan, Jordan Goldesberry and Jeremy Standridge.

The champion will receive his share of the series’ point fund money, and a ride at the 2012 Chili Bowl sponsored by Indy Race Parts and Bernie Stuebgen. The top ten in the standings will receive point money sponsored by series’ sponsor Monster Energy™.

Hull grabbed a win with the series earlier this year in Jacksonville, as did Terry McCarl (the winner of last Saturday’s event in West Burlington, Iowa) and Danny Smith. Smith was the most recent winner at the ¼-mile banked oval, having copped the $4,000 “Shaheen’s Blast from the Past” last Friday night. JC Bland won the unsanctioned Herb Barlow Memorial two weeks ago in Jacksonville. It’s anyone’s guess who will sit in Victory Lane this Friday night!

Grandstands open at 5 p.m., with hot laps scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and racing to follow. Tickets are just $13 for adults, with 12 and under admitted FREE! For more information, visit www.JacksonvilleSpeedway.com!
