PEORIA, Ariz. (October 22, 2011) – Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, Ind. extended his lead in the USAC National Drivers Championship with his victory in Friday night’s opening Parker Store Hall of Fame Classic AMSOIL USAC National/CRA Sprint race at Canyon Raceway Park.
Clauson grabbed the lead in his Curb Records/R & B Truckers Spike/Chevy from USAC/CRA point leader Mike Spencer on lap 25 and led the remaining six laps for the win. Chris Windom finished second ahead of Damion Gardner, Levi Jones and Spencer.
The win puts Clauson 25 points ahead of Kyle Larson in the new National Driver Championship standings. Larson did not compete Friday. Jones and Spencer retained their respective point leads in the AMSOIL National and CRA series. Keith Bloom Jr. was Friday’s fastest qualifier.
Brian Swinehart picked up his third win in Challenge Cup action beating out a pair of Brinkley’s who filled the second and third spot on the podium.
