– SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (Nov. 7) – It was arguably one of the most successful weekends in his career.

Jack Dover outran NASCAR star Tony Stewart, the “King” of sprint cars – Steve Kinser – and a slew of the top drivers in the country to record a victory in the first ASCS National Tour event in the state of New Mexico in 13 seasons. He followed it up by running third the ensuing night to cap the weekend last November at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M.

“It’s pretty awesome when you can beat Tony Stewart, Steve Kinser and all those guys,” he said. “It was a racy track. You could go anywhere on the track. The track conditions were perfect.”

The 20-year-old Springfield, Neb., native returns to the 5/16-mile dirt oval this Friday and Saturday with the ASCS National Tour.

He started that memorable weekend last year by outracing Stewart in a thrilling battle during their heat race. Dover won, which locked him into the feature and gave him enough points to make the redraw. He pulled the No. 3, putting him on the inside of the second row for the main event.

It didn’t take him long to dispose of the front row and Dover led all 25 laps to claim his fourth career ASCS National Tour victory.

The following night he finished third in the feature to wrap up a pair of podium results in his first time at that track.

“It’s a little bit like my home track of Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb.,” he said. “It’s not as banked, but it’s wide like Eagle and how you can race on it is similar.

“I think it’s awesome when you can go somewhere you’ve never been and run well. Hopefully I can have similar results this year.”

In a limited ASCS National Tour schedule this season, Dover has picked up another victory and is up to 13th in the standings heading into this weekend.
