Podium Finish in Season Finale

From CDR

The grueling World of Outlaws schedule came a close on Saturday for Craig Dollansky and the Big Game Treestands #7 team as they returned to The Dirt Track at Charlotte following a strong fourth place finish the previous night.

Originally scheduled for Thursday, qualifying for the second night of the World Finals took place prior to Friday’s program where Dollansky powered the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim to the second fastest time at 12.717 seconds among the stout 54 car field. Just like Friday, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ lined up fourth in his heat and electrified the crowd motoring around the highside of the track to claim victory in the 8-lap race. In the dash the Karavan Trailers #7 started inside of row four and finished 8th.

Starting from eighth in the 30-lap A-Main, Dollansky assumed seventh on the opening lap and came after Paul McMahan. ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ continued to work the highside and crack the top five by motored past McMahan and Jason Meyers on the eleventh circuit and held the position until the first caution with 8 laps to go. On the restart Dollansky raced past Cody Darrah in turns 1&2 to claim fourth until the final caution in the closing laps set up a green-white-checkered finish. Another great restart saw the Elk River, Minnesota native race past Kerry Madsen and then battle side-by-side with Steve Kinser down the backstretch. Dollansky would battle Kinser for the runner-up position but run out of laps as he recorded a podium finish in 3rd.

“We worked the highside and Steve was working good in the middle to the bottom but this Big Game Treestands team has been working hard all weekend long and we’ve had a good strong weekend,” commented Dollansky. “We definitely would have liked to get win #10 tonight but this is a great team effort with a strong field of cars. To come home third with this group of guys is a great run for everyone that stands behind this team from Big Game Treestands, Karavan Trailers, Aggressive Hydraulics, and Aeroquip.”

Before heading back to Minnesota the World of Outlaws celebrated the 2011 season at the Awards Banquet on Sunday night at Great Wolf Lodge and Resort where the #7 team of Craig, DJ, Troy, Luke, and Tyler were recognized for finishing 5th in driver standings and 6th in owner standings. The team also was awarded the KSE Hard Charger Award and had a little luck on their side to win a custom golf cart in a drawing courtesy of Jakes Carts.

With the season now in the books, Dollansky had an exceptional year aboard the Big Game Treestands #7 to more that double the figure in the win column from last year and finish tied for the most victories with nine in 2011. Other strong nights of the long season saw ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ accumulate 29 top-fives, 46 top-tens, 3 quicktimes in qualifying and record the fourth most laps led at 218.
