Kaeding Sweeps Weekend

PETERSEN MEDIA

– Bud Kaeding kept his hot streak alive over the weekend, as the Campbell, CA driver posted a pair of weekends in Watsonville and Hanford, CA while making a stint aboard the Werbach Motorsports No.20 machine.

Friday night, Kaeding and his team checked into the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA for the Taco Bravo opener.

Lining up in the five spot, Kaeding wasted no time making his move to the lead, as he utilized two early race restarts to pounce on early race leader, Andy Forsberg.

Once out in front, Kaeding was in cruise control as he was a dominant force over the field.

As Kaeding stretched his lead, reigning Ocean Speedway champion, Ronnie Day moved into second place, but he couldn’t challenge, as Kaeding won the race by a 1.9 second advantage.

Saturday night, Kaeding and the Werbach Motorsports team headed to the Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway for the Rebel Cup Series opener.

With persistant rains, and a rough forecast looking bleak for the night, promoter, Scott Woodhouse and his team waited it out and got the opening event in.

With 16 cars in the pit area, Kaeding bested them all in qualifying as he laid down a solid lap that would benefit him later on in the night.

Heat race action was single file and not much passing was had, but Kaeding scored a fifth place finish and made him eligible for the inversion, which was a zero, and put him on the pole.

Taking advantage of his prime starting spot, Kaeding shot out to the early lead over Tommy Tarlton and set sail.

Kaeding would go on to dominate the feature and cap off his weekend sweep, and third consecutive victory.

“What an awesome weekend,” said the jubilant Kaeding. “The Werbach team gave me a great car all weekend, and we came out with two wins, the weekend couldn’t be of been much better.”

Kaeding would like to thank Kaeding Performance, Sprint Car Innovations, Alviso Rock, BZE, Factory Kahne Shocks, Racing Optics, K&N Filters, Yak Graphics, ButlerBuilt, and Brown and Miller for their continued support.

ON TAP: Kaeding will now head back to the Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway on Saturday for round two of the USAC West Coast 360 series.
