The annual Easter Sprintcar Trail, run throughout the Easter Long Weekend over three rounds in Victoria and South Australia, wrapped up what has been a sensational 2011/12 season for James McFadden, but unfortunately, the results didn’t exactly go according to plan.
McFadden managed to finish all three rounds of the Easter Trail inside the top 10 of every feature race, which was highlighted by a fifth place at Borderline Speedway (Mount Gambier, SA) during the second round. In the other rounds, he placed ninth at Avalon Raceway (Geelong, VIC) in the opening round, and eighth in the rain hampered third and final round at Premier Speedway (Warrnambool, VIC).
Although they weren’t the desired results over the course of the weekend for McFadden and the Scott Milling owned team, there was a positive to come out of it all. McFadden’s ninth place finish in the opening round was enough for him to take out the Avalon Raceway Track Championship and pick up a brand-new car, which was the major prize thanks to Essendon Ford.
“It was a tough weekend for the team, where we basically finished where we started,” said the NQ # 25 Totally Workwear Midland & VIC Park supported COOL driver. “One of our aims going into the weekend was to take out the Avalon Raceway Track Championship, and to achieve that was very satisfying. It was great to take out such a cool prize thanks to Essendon Ford, and special thanks must go to them for their support of speedway.”
Looking back on his 2011/12 season, McFadden was wrapped with how it all panned, despite the tough end of the season, along with being extremely grateful to all of his team and sponsors; in particular car owner Scott Milling and crew chief Glen Beaton, for all of their wonderful support.
“It would’ve been nice to have finished the season stronger, but overall, we’ve had a great season,” he commented. “None of my success would’ve been at all possible without the support of all my team and sponsors. My guys are the best, and all of my success this season is as much theirs as it is mine.”
Stay tuned for more exciting news regarding McFadden in the coming weeks.
McFadden would like to thank his car owner Scott Milling, parents Dave and Tania, crew chief Glen Beaton, and crew members Crackers and Alex, along with his valued sponsors Totally Workwear Midland & VIC Park, Western Diamond Drillers, AUS FUEL GULL, Lucas Oil Products Inc, Allstar Performance, Astro Titanium, KRE Race Engines, OMP, Racer Industries and COOL Chassis, for their ongoing support in the 2011/12 season.
