Kevin Feeney To Begin 2012 In The Deep South With The Must See Racing Xtreme Sprints Series

Oxford, Michigan (Friday, April 13th, 2012): Veteran Sprint Car Driver, Kevin Feeney has raced practically all over the Midwestern United States in both Winged and Non-Winged Sprint Cars. The Oxford, Michigan stand out has enjoyed success primarily in the Auto Value Super Sprints Series where he captured the 2010 Series Championship and finished on the podium in the final points tallies in four other seasons from 1999-2011.

The 2012 racing season will see the 43-year-old add another milestone of sorts when he makes the long haul south with the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprints Series on Friday and Saturday, April 13-14th as the Holly, Michigan based series will venture into the deep south for the first time in series history with dates at two fast ½ (0.500) miles; Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida and Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, Alabama as the Royal Oak Southern Shootout kicks off the 2012 campaign for the series.

Feeney will be behind the wheel of 2010 Must See Racing Xtreme Sprints Series Championship Car Owners, Mike and Susie Blake, who took Troy DeCaire to the 2010 title. “I’m really excited to get an early start to the season! I’m looking forward to driving for Mike & Susie Blake. They have a first class operation and have had a tremendous amount of success that last several years.” Feeney stated.

“This will be my first race with MSR in a couple of years and first time to both of these tracks, but I have been told both are very fast tracks and I know we have a car capable of winning.” The veteran Sprint pilot continued. “Mike has spent all winter preparing the car and we have the support of Dick and J.R. Kercher who built the power plant for the 81 car and will be at the track with us this weekend.”

Feeney as well as several of the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprints Series competitors got the chance to shake down there Winged Warriors on Thursday, April 12th in an open test session at Five Flags. “I was very happy about them scheduling this test session. It gave me the chance to shake the rust off and get acclimated to the Kercher Powered Dynamite chassis.” Feeney added. “

After the weekend down south, Feeney will have ample time to prepare for the start of the 2012 Auto Value Super Sprints season, which kicks off on Saturday, May 12th at another ½ mile paved oval, this time the historic Baer Field Speedway in Fort Wayne, Indiana will be the site of the series opener. Feeney will once again chase after the 2012 AVSS Title while also making select appearances throughout the remainder of the year with the MSR Xtreme Sprints Series.

As for the second half of the Feeney Motorsports Team, Kevin’s son, 18-year-old Kyle Feeney will begin his 2012 racing season on Sunday, April 29th at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana in the running of the 12th annual Glen Neibel Classic for Non-Winged Sprints. Then the following Friday, May 4th he’ll be at Spartan Speedway in Mason, Michigan as the younger Feeney will go after the 2012 Non-Winged Sprints Track Championship. In addition, he’ll also go after the Non-Winged Sprints Track Championship at near-by Springport Motor Speedway in Springport, Michigan beginning on Saturday, May 12th.
