Haley and Miranda Score Top-10’s at Valley

Following an opening weekend that saw both sisters miss the feature event, the Arnold Motorsports duo of Miranda and Haley Arnold were in action with the ASCS Warrior Region Friday night in Grain Valley, MO and both sisters scored top-10 finishes.

Though both of their nights ended well, the sister teammates took much different routes to get through the night.

Miranda made her night an eventful one aboard her Mid-Mo Auto Sales/Fastenal/Champion Brands maxim as she started her night off with an eventful heat race.

“We had a really bad deal happen in our heat race, but luckily it didn’t hurt us too bad,” said Miranda.

In her heat, Miranda actually had a nozzle line come loose, and luckily she was able to finish, and had advanced to the fifth spot from her seventh starting spot.

The younger Arnold’s finish put her in the 17th spot for the feature, and after quick repairs in her heat, she was on a mission in the feature.

Marred deep in traffic, she simply put her K&N/Subway/GoPro backed entry where she needed on the track and passed cars at will as she moved up inside the top-five.

As the lady racer grabbed fifth, she left the racing surface, to avoid a wreck, but officials ruled her as part of the wreck, and she was put back to eighth, where she would finish.

“It’s kind of a bummer that we got scored farther back then we should have been, but I can’t thank my team enough for their work tonight, and giving me a great car,” said Miranda. “It started off rocky, but we ended up with a good night.”

Haley Arnold’s night went much smoother, and she ended up with a solid sixth place finish.

Her night got started off, by sharing the front row of her heat with veteran shoe, Randy Martin.

When the green came out, Arnold got a great jump and paced the field early, as she ripped off lightning fast laps, and picked up the win, and put herself in the top-eight redraw for the feature.

Pulling the six, Haley would start the 25-lap feature from the third row.
As the race got started, Haley had fallen back to the eighth spot, but she would race her entry back up to her sixth spot.

Towards the end of the race, she hooked up in an entertaining duo with her sister, but as the late yellow flew, the battled would be for not.

At the stripe, Haley would end her night with a stout sixth place finish.

“After last weekend, I can’t complain about a sixth place finish against such a stout field of driver,” said Haley. “We all worked so hard tonight with helping Miranda get back together, it was just a really fun night.”
