The USAC Mopar Western Midgets now gear up for a July 6 race at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, Calif.
Lady driver Shannon McQueen will take a 64-point lead over Scott Pierovich into the Watsonville race after finishing fourth in last Saturday night’s “Pombo Classic” feature at the Madera (Calif.) Speedway.
Pierovich, of Alamo, Calif., led all 30 laps at Madera to beat Chad Nichols, Nick Chivello, McQueen and Tony Hunt. Pierovich was also the fastest Madera qualifier.
