– Since announcing his retirement over the winter, Jason Meyers still had the itch to take another at the Knoxville 360 and 410 Nationals, and over the weekend he returned to the Mecca of Sprint Car Racing with Tarlton Racing and scored a 10th place finish in the B main on Saturday night.

“We had a great car all weekend,” said Meyers. “Unfortunately I didn’t do us any favors on our qualifying night and put us in a pretty big hole.”

During qualifications on Friday night, Meyers turned in the 35th quickest lap of the night putting him deep in his heat race.

Once qualifying ended, Meyers came alive as he got in an entertaining battle with Sheldon Haudenschild for the final transfer spot, and Meyers used a late race move to propel his Corporate Lending America/Tachi Palace and Casino/Tarlton and Son No.21 into the feature event.

Lining up for the 20-lap race in the 19th spot, Meyers continued to move forward as he sliced and diced his Sharp Insurance/Bandy and Associates/Pro Signs machine through the field and ended up scoring a ninth place finish.

Though he rebounded nicely after qualifying, the time would haunt him as his point total ultimately put him in the C main on Saturday.

Starting in the fifth spot for the C, ‘Hot Foot’ quickly moved into the second spot and chased down Sam Hafertepe, Jr, and used a last lap, last corner pass to grab the C main win, and move on into the B main event.

Rewarded with a 20th place starting spot, Meyers continued to show speed on the world famous ½ mile facility and worked both the top and bottom of the track to fight his way through the B, as he looked to do the unthinkable and transfer into the feature.

Despite giving it an all out effort, Meyers’ 360 Nationals would come to a close with a 10th place finish in the B main.

“This is a great team, and they worked their tails off all weekend,” said Meyers. “It’s been fun so far, and hopefully we will be competititve this week during the 410 Nationals.”

Jason would like to thank Corporate Lending America, Tachi Palace and Casino, Sharp Insurance, Bandy and Associates, Pro Signs, BG Lubricants, K&N Products and Astro Titanium for their continued support.
