Knoxville, IA — (August 11, 2012) — 2012 “Mr. Sprint Car” titlist Kyle Larson of Elk Grove, California, finished this year’s Cox Design Iowa Speed Week with a record number of points – 350. Following him on the Speed Week podium after ten nights of sprint car races were Brian Brown and Tim Kaeding, respectively. Donny Schatz, winner of the Speed Sport Knoxville World Challenge on Friday night, came back to win his sixth Knoxville Nationals title on Saturday night.
The top ten in the 2012 Cox Design Iowa Speed Week points after thirteen mains in ten nights is as follows: 1., Kyle Larson, 350 points; 2., Brian Brown, 276 points; 3., Tim Kaeding, 268 points; 4., Shane Stewart, 253 points; 5., Tim Shaffer, 246 points; 6., Jason Meyers, 242 points; 7., Daryn Pittman, 227 points; 8., Jason Johnson, 222 points; 9., Brady Bacon, 221 points; 10., Paul McMahan, 216 points.
The Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Iowa Speedweek includes ten straight nights of sprint car racing between Knoxville Raceway and the Southern Iowa Speedway. The top three places pay $2,500, $1,000, and $500, respectively, with the winner declared the Jesse Hockett “Mr. Sprint Car” titlist.
