(Gardena, CA, November 1, 2012) Greg Alexander and the Eric Rickard Motorsports #13 are batting 1,000 at the Ventura Raceway after winning their second main event in two tries at the seaside oval last Saturday night. This Friday and Saturday, November 2nd and 3rd, the Gardena, California based driver will be behind the wheel of the Chuck Tyler Motorsports #72 for the 17th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway.
After finishing second in his heat race at Ventura, the 23-year-old Gardena, California based racer started on the pole in the main event and led the 30-lapper green to checkered. When the race ended, the brilliant blue and white #13 had a half straight lead over the second place car.
“Everything went perfect,” the happy driver said about the win. “We got into lapped traffic and just had to move them up a bit. We also got some breaks from the yellow flag while approaching more lapped traffic.”
The victory was the fifth in Alexander’s young career. It also establishes him as one of the favorites when Ventura closes the season with the prestigious All Coast Construction Challenge finale on Saturday, November 10th.
While Alexander will be running the Tyler #72 in the Amsoil USAC National and CRA portion of this weeks Budweiser Oval Nationals, Rickard will try to guide the Ventura winning #13 to his first ever PAS win in the Senior Sprints portion of the program.
