Reidy claims another top–five result

By Daniel Powell

For the third time in as many race meetings, Danny Reidy has walked away with a top–five result. On this occasion, it took place during the third round of the KRE Sprintcar Series at Brisbane’s Archerfield Speedway last Saturday night.

After fifth and second place finishes in the opening two rounds of the KRE Series, Reidy finished just off the podium in fourth on the weekend. He had maintained third for the majority of the feature race up until he was passed on the inside in the closing stages of the 30–lap event which denied him of a spot on the podium.

“We were looking good there for another podium result, but (Andrew) Scheuerle got me in the end, which was disappointing to miss out,” explained the NQ # 5 Desert Palms Resort – Alice Springs supported J&J driver. “On the positive side of things, we’ve managed to finish inside the top five in every outing this season, so I’m hoping that we can continue our consistent form. It certainly makes life a lot easier and more enjoyable for our team when we’re able to roll the car back into the truck after every race meeting without any damage.”

Earlier in the night, Reidy posted the third fastest lap in qualifying and then ran seventh and third, from the rear of the field on both occasions, in his two heat races. Heading into the top–six dash, he was second highest on points and drew a position four start. In the dash, he finished in third and it gave him his inside second row start for the feature race.

This Saturday night (November 10) is Reidy’s next appearance which will be the fourth round of the KRE Series at Archerfield Speedway.

Reidy would like to thank Desert Palms Resort – Alice Springs, Camden Neon Signs, P&M Motor Body Repairs, Gonzo’s Race Pipes and Inglis Race Engines for all of their 2012–13 season support.
