Brisbane, AU — (January 27, 2013) — With the rain from ex-tropical cyclone Oswald making its way down the Qld coastline to the Brisbane area overnight and flood alerts being issued by the Bureau Of Meteorology ahead of expected torrential downpours over the coming days, the management of Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway in consultation with competitor groups have postponed the running of the Australian Midget Championship until next Saturday night February 2.

American star Dave Darland, who only arrived in the country on Friday morning, has confirmed he will remain in Brisbane for the week to compete in the Championship while two more pre-race favourites in Nathan Smee and Mark Brown from NSW have also confirmed their intention to return next weekend for the event.

The Australian AMCA Nationals Championship will now be held on the April 26/27 as part of a Championship double header alongside the V8 Dirt Modifieds with Archerfield Speedway having already secured the opportunity to host their 2013 National Title event. The AMCA Nationals will still be on next Saturday night’s programme however they will compete for local Track Championship points only.

Next Saturday night’s programme at Archerfield will also feature a Caravan, Boat And Dunny Race, Fireworks and support class racing. Additional information regarding the event will be posted on the track website at brisbanespeedway.com.au and social media sources such as Facebook and Twitter.
