– GREENWOOD, Neb. (May 30, 2013) – I-80 Speedway is listed as a semi-banked, 4/10-mile oval.

However, World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series stars remember I-80 Speedway, which hosts the premier sprint car series for the first time in a decade on Sunday, June 9, for the NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown, as a much bigger track.

“I-80 might be one of the higher-banked tracks that size that we run on,” championship points leader Daryn Pittman said. “It’s definitely a little different, probably a little faster.”

Pittman, who hasn’t raced at I-80 Speedway since the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series last competed there in 2003, has yet to pick up a feature win at the fast track along with the next two highest point earners – Donny Schatz and Paul McMahan – with the series.

“That is probably one of the coolest tracks we don’t go to often,” McMahan said. “We used to race there two or three times a year. I’m definitely looking forward to it. There’s some real great race fans over there.”

While the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series hasn’t competed at I-80 Speedway in more than a decade, there were 15 points shows at the fast track between 1995 and 2003.

Mark Kinser claimed the first four events and added his series-leading fifth win in 2001. Danny Lasoski, who won the most recent race, is second on the list with three victories.

Twenty-time series champion Steve Kinser picked up two wins along with Sammy Swindell, who currently ranks fourth in the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series points.

Craig Dollansky, Stevie Smith and Jac Haudenschild each garnered one victory.
