Badger & POWRi set for Wisconsin doubleheader this weekend

Wilmot, WI — (July 8, 2013) — Two of Wisconsin’s most popular open wheel racing dirt tracks ready themselves for a weekend doubleheader, with the Stark Automotive Group/Mid-State Equipment Badger Midget Series &  Lucas Oil POWRi Midget Series.
Action kicks off on Saturday July 13 at the Wilmot Raceway with the Seventh annual “Salute to Harry Turner”. Pits open at 3:00 p.m., grandstands at 5:00 p.m., practice begins at 6:00 p.m.,with racing to follow. Racing action will also include the Badger 600 Micro Series, with the tracks Street Stocks, Mini Sprints and Four Cylinder divisions participating.
The following evening action moves to Angell Park Speedway (Sun Prairie, Wis.), for the 77th Anniversary season race for the Badger at the famed 1/3-mile oval. Fans are encourged to come to the track early Sunday as numerous social events involving past participants from Badger will begin in the Pavillion at 1:00 p.m. running until 5:00 p.m. Pits open at 3:00 p.m., grandstands at 5:00 p.m., practice begins at 6:00 p.m., with racing to follow. The Badger 600 Micro Series and Illini Racing Series will be also racing.
Andrew Felker finds himself atop both series point standings heading into the event. Felker currently leads three-Badger champ Brad Kuhn by one point in Badger standings, and holds a size able lead in POWRi over Zach Daum.
