Saturday night’s 40-lap “Belleville Midget Nationals” winner will now earn a $10,000 payday, thanks to a $3,000 donation from former Belleville late model driver Renn Allsman which has augmented the purse. Allsman will also present Saturday night’s championship trophy.

Belleville’s annual Midget racing spectacle has always been among the largest paying Midget races in the nation and this added incentive will create even more excitement for Saturday’s Honda USAC National Midget championship finale.

The nation’s finest Midget drivers will battle in Thursday’s preliminary events at the half-mile dirt oval, which concludes with a 25-lap feature. Saturday’s events include heats, dashes, semi and the 40-lap finale.

Jerry Coons Jr. of Tucson, Ariz. returns as the only three-time winner in Belleville history. Two-time winners Dave Darland and Bryan Clauson also return, along with former winner Bobby East.

Friday night’s Belleville fare showcases the TRAXXAS USAC Silver Crown cars in the “Hustle on the High Banks,” marking the series’ inaugural appearance at the Kansas oval.
